Are you up to date on the latest changes to Act 287 as amended, otherwise known as the Underground Utility Line Protection Act? The law was amended in 2018 with new enforcement, reporting requirements and numerous other changes. In light of this, Pennsylvania One Call System, Inc. will be conducting free training sessions in the area starting in March. I would like to invite you, your co-workers and all of your staff members to attend this vital training.

Additional classes throughout the state may be viewed at https://www.pa1call.org/PA811/Public/POCS_Content/News/Free_Excavator_Training.aspx

All classes start precisely at 8:00 AM and end at 10:00 AM. A complimentary breakfast will be served between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM.

Excavator training sessions are for any professional excavator who works within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and for anyone associated with damage prevention. The class objectives are to teach the ‘Five Steps to Safer Digging’ techniques for planning, notifying, responding, protecting and your obligations according to the state law–PA Act 287 of 1974, as amended. The training offers interactive training where you can engage with the presenter by answering questions anonymously. Pre-registration is required.

The classes are free, but pre-registration is required. To register, go to www.paonecall.org/events and click on the preferred class. You can also register by contacting me directly via email at gjkrawchuk@pa1call.org or by phone at 215.859.0896. Don’t miss out on this valuable training: register now!
